What are community rewards? Why have site currencies?

These are mock economic systems meant to support the development of communities online. The current currencies that we work with—Audys and Blue Notes—are designed to address two different aspects of this economy. Audys reward everyone on the site and can be used for in-site items, achievements, community infrastructure, and as general tokens of appreciation for creators. Blue Notes represent real cash and are used strictly for compensating creators and the site.

What will they be used for & Why we need your feedback?

In ADR BETA all transactions such as tipping creators, receiving daily rewards, buying event tickets and more are simulations. They are solely for providing users with the experience of the site currency and site economy and how it works and feels. For example, users are free to provide their feedback on such concerns such as: Are Chapter UnLock prices fair? Are the daily rewards fair? Is there enough content to purchase? Is there enough content to redeem my member credit rewards on?

When the site enters Beyond Beta, it is the feedback from the users on their experiences that will be used to improve the site overall.

Audy Star

Audy(s)

What are Audys?

They are our members reward system, otherwise known as a Loyalty Program. This system was designed in place to reward user activity and positive community behaviors whether you are reading or writing or active any way on the site. Audys are the ADR’s team of showing and sharing appreciation. You can spend and use them as freely as you desire.

The main usage of Audys are for member benefits such as discounts on Blue Note packages and merch (coming soon), and to join exclusive events for both readers and writers. Eventually (in the far future) those with high Audy balances will recieve site perks and special member badges and items.

Audys can only be received through site/user actions such as daily login, commenting, liking, buying chapters, or posting on forums. They can not be purchased.

Blue Note(s)

What are Blue Notes?

Blue Notes are ADR’S site currency for tipping authors.

Blue notes are used exclusively to support your favorite creators. When you buy a Blue Note package please be aware, you are not purchasing content or ownership thereof of content. You are purchasing a set amount of digital currency with real world money. It is only when you spend your Blue Notes in the site that you can support authors through tipping them virtually.

Additionally, during the BETA mode version of the site, users may see the option to digitally ‘purchase’ chapters. These purchases are not real purchases, and are, site feature demonstrations. These simulations are provided only for users to gain the experience of how the Chapter UnLock platform features work in relationship to Blue Notes. If you would like to learn more about the Chapter UnLock System please see here.

You can purchase them in stores only as packages. To keep the system balanced, on some calendar days there may be more or less Blue Note packages available for purchase. During the BETA phase of ADR Blue Notes are set as free.

Please keep in mind, Blue Notes are ADR’S in-house tipping system. You are tipping because you believe in the quality or value of creative content that an author produces.

Blue Notes are unlike Audys which are used as an appreciation system wherein you can spend and use them as recklessly as you desire. Everytime you use a Blue Note, you must be aware of its worth and the impact for yourself and the creator. Tips can be a great way for authors to continue to build on their work and allow them to set up things like Kickstarters for publications or help them stay motivated in an ever competitive creative sphere. However, as a user, your Blue Notes are backed behind real money. If you pay and play your Blue notes all the time, you can risk a lot for performance, but using it wisely and generously can produce a really wonderful symphony.

Audys are given to reward the user’s site activity. This is meant to not only reward active site behavior, but also provide an in-site points system to give users the ability to offer points to ADR communities and creators through site provisions.

Blue Notes are items of real-life currency. They are purchased with real money to send tips to creators. Blue Notes will be used as most purchases of online currencies are used – to offer the creators income for their site contributions, as well as provide the site with some income to keep up with maintenance.

In short, both are forms of currency—one virtual and the other tangible—to sustain the ecosystem of the site and encourage mutual growth.
