Dark Light

Full of Crystals

Just as Zhu Ning shouted with all her heart, immense pressure came crushing their minds.

From the surging, violent waves of the river, whose water was as black as the starry void, a bright light shone on everything, and a roar exploded the surface of the water.

“Not good!” Zhu Ning anxiously activated a talisman as she grabbed Su Ru’s hand, they then vanished in a blink.

At the same time, a huge flood dragon, three times bigger than the last one, emerged from the chaotic river. Its green scales emitted nothing but pure ghostly killing intent, a pair of huge brown eyes scanned everything that could be scanned, and a powerful ethereal mind bloomed from them.

As if sensing something, the Dragon looked in one direction and flew with unimaginable speed towards it. Its huge body constantly collided with the cave’s ceiling, but strangely no damage was done to it.

After flying for a while, the flood dragon suddenly stopped and started to scan the area around. But it couldn’t see anything but rocks and water.

Suddenly, a cold flash of light hit the flood dragon’s neck with a thunderous sound and disappeared without a trace, leaving behind a shallow wound.

‘As expected, the gap can’t be closed just by relying on combat efficiency, I need more brute power…’ Ji-Yoon thought as he observed the flood dragon with a bit of anxiety but also eagerness.

He heard the angry roar of the flood dragon when it emerged, and immediately sensed the difference in strength. It was at the Initial Layer of the Nascent Soul Realm, he could feel it clearly by sensing the waves in the flow.

At the same time, he immediately understood that his method of concealing his existential signature was useful against this beast too, just by “translating” the information he received from the flow and comprehending it.

(Author’s note: For those who didn’t get it from the previous chapters, he can use the flow as a source of information. And because of the special state he reached, he could automatically interpret this information, without any delay. In the beginning, he had to do it “manually.’)

ROAR!!

Full of fury, the flood dragon emitted such a huge pressure that Ji-Yoon felt his body cracking, he almost kneeled. A huge fear bloomed in his heart, it was an instinct born because of the difference between Life Planes.

Although Ji-Yoon was extremely confident in his battle power, he knew he could never defeat that flood dragon. Just thinking about fighting against it made him shudder uncontrollably.  It didn’t matter how strong he was, if his heart wasn’t steady, he was doomed to lose the battle.

‘Damn, I underestimated the difference in strength…’ Ji-Yoon cursed and began to run away.

However, even though the flood dragon couldn’t sense him, it began to fly in his direction. No matter what he tried, he couldn’t shake his enemy off.

‘Damn, how is it able to sense the direction I’m running?’ Ji-Yoon wondered and automatically got an answer from the flow, ‘It is sensing the corpse in my storage ring!? Fuck!’

Ji-Yoon didn’t hesitate to throw the corpse out of the storage ring, keeping only the Essence Core.

The flood dragon roared when it saw the corpse, full of hate and bitterness. It slashed with its claws randomly, destroying everything close by with ultimate power.

From the corpse, a blue mist began to emerge, it slowly got the form of a flood dragon. It was its remnant soul!

The green flood dragon spat its Essence Core and the remnant soul was sucked into it in instants.

‘What is happening?’ Ji-Yoon looked at the scene with curiosity, he never heard of such a thing before, and he couldn’t understand the information conveyed by the flow.

The flood dragon was about to swallow his Core when a slender hand appeared out of nothing, grabbing the essence core and disappearing.

As it happened in instants, the flood dragon couldn’t react in time and had his core robbed!

Immediately, it roared full of anger and pain, vomiting blood just after. I couldn’t understand how he didn’t notice someone near him!

The Essence Core was the heart of its cultivation base. Without it, any mystical beast would lose most of its power. Although the Essence Core could be condensed again, it would take a long time, during which any beast would be extremely weakened.

Jj-Yoon’s eyes brightened and he instantly used his Dao Brush to form a huge circular moon blade, which began to rotate at an extremely high speed.

“Bye!” Ji-Yoon muttered, and at the same slashed towards the flood dragon. Immediately, bolts of crimson lightning appeared along the blade’s surface as it flew.

Because the blade was under his concealment ability too, it approached without being detected, faster than the thunder sound it produced.

Before, just its body’s defenses were enough to fend off Ji-Yoon’s attacks, but now… It could only die!

Swish!

Neatly, the flood dragon was beheaded without even being able to react. With a confused expression, its head fell to the ground with a ‘bang!’

[Ding! Dong! Congratulations host on killing an enemy in an entire Major Realm higher than you for the first time! You can now use the Blank Space feature!]

[The Blank Space is a timeless detached space. In it, the host can simulate many situations such as fighting a strong enemy or inventing a new technique. Even if the host dies in this space, he would be immediately revived.]

“Well, there’s something like this?” Ji-Yoon was extremely surprised, but he didn’t delay his movements and swiftly took the entire flood dragons’ corpses into his storage ring, fearing that the “slender hand” would rob him too.

“Fellow Daoist, please wait a minute!” Zhu Ning appeared out of thin air along Su Ru and with a calm expression asked as she tried to spot Ji-Yoon, “Can Fellow Daoist exchange those corpses with me?”

Ji-Yoon thought for a minute and maintained his concealment, but wrote in the ground with his Dao Brush which was enlarged to the size of a broom, “I can exchange the corpses with you, but not the Essence Core.”

Zhu Ning quickly noticed the writing on the ground and was internally shocked as she couldn’t sense any kind of presence. “Your method of concealment is superb, fellow Daoist,” she praised and then said, “Just the corpses are fine, I can give you twenty-six thousand energy crystals for both, how about it?”

Ji-Yoon, who was in deep need of resources, naturally agreed and wrote “Ok!” He directly took the corpses out of his storage ring and put them on the ground.

Zhu Ning and Su Ru’s eyes immediately brightened and they looked at each other for an instant before Zhu Ning said, “Fellow Daoist, the number of crystals are quite large, not quite adequate to be put on the ground like this, can you borrow us your storage bag or ring for us to make a direct transmission?”

Ji-Yoon frowned and wrote with a subtle look, “I don’t care about it, just put them on the ground.”

“Please don’t misunderstand us, it might be an empty spare ring or bag, we have no ill intentions,” Zhu Ning added after noticing her mistake.

Ji-Yoon smirked and shook his head as he wrote, “Unfortunately, I don’t.” Although he said that, he in truth had two empty storage pouches that he got from Old Li.

The reason he didn’t say the truth was that he was afraid that Zhu Ning would do something like put a spatial mark on them and then rob him later.

He already heard about this kind of thing from gossip, so he naturally wanted to avoid an avoidable loss.

Zhu Ning then smiled with a subtle glow in her eyes as she simply took a storage pouch from her sleeve and said, “Since Fellow Daoist is so careful, I will first borrow you this storage pouch with the energy crystals inside.” She then threw it in the direction of the writings on the ground.

Ji-Yoon moved and caught it with ease, but never lowered his guard. He carefully examined the number of crystals with his ethereal mind before directly transferring them to his storage ring.

After that, he threw the pouch to Zhu Ning and left without hesitation, leaving only a “Farewell” written on the ground.

“Wait!” Zhu Ning exclaimed, but Ji-Yoon was already far away and she got no response, “Hah! He sure is cautious. I wonder if he is the same strange guy from before? I couldn’t confirm it because he never spoke.”

“It’s possible!” Su Ru nodded, “Are you interested in his methods too?”

“Yes, his concealment skills are incredible! I couldn’t sense or see him even when he took my space pouch, I even lost my connection with it, as if it completely disappeared from this world!” Zhu Ning said with narrowed eyes and a solemn tone.

“Well? Even your link with the storage pouch was severed?” Su Ru muttered with horror, “What kind of technique is this?”

“Not only this… But even a Nascent Soul Realm creature couldn’t sense his existence…” Zhu Ning muttered, “If not because I saw that his attack power is in the Golden Core, I would have thought that he is at least at the Nascent Soul Realm.”

As he flew while sitting in his Dao Broo… Dao Brush, already out of the cave, Ji-Yoon happily thought about the alchemy materials he was going to buy for himself. After all, he made a lot of money from a single trip and it was enough for him for the time being.

First, he needs to pass the Alchemy Way test and be acknowledged as an official alchemist, and then he will finally be able to sell his products to the sect in exchange for contribution points or energy crystals.

He will buy some simple recipes and herbs and refine some pills that have large demand. With his current alchemy skills brought by his understanding of the Mortal and Life Daos as well as the Alchemy Books he memorized and the things taught to him by Elder Yang, he will soon be able to make lots of money!

Just as he was daydreaming, the entire world suddenly dimmed and a thunderous shout shook the mountains, “Your grandfather Star is back you damn bitches!”

Ji-Yoon almost fell from the sky because of the strong pressure brought by the voice, but it quickly passed and he stabilized himself.

“What the fuck was that!?” Ji-Yoon muttered in shock, “Don’t tell me a strong monster awakened and will try to destroy the sect? Oh no, this is so clichéd that I might puke blood and die!”

With a slightly horrified expression, Ji-Yoon wondered if he should go back to the sect immediately.

Just as he was wondering, another similar shout shook the world, “Haha! This king is back! The entire world will bow down to my Stellar Origin Sect! Just as it did and should have stayed doing!”

Ji-Yoon, shocked by the information he just got, wondered as he tried to keep himself from falling, ‘Is it not as I thought? In truth, is my sect the villain that tries to conquer the world by bloody means!?”

Then, another even stronger shout dimmed the entire sky and almost blacked out everything, “All hail the great Star Original Prime!”

“All hail the great Star Original Prime!” Another being repeated, his voice was as thunder and even the clouds in the sky dissipated.

“Come on… Why did I transmigrate just in time for this big dangerous plot!?” Ji-Yoon muttered full of sadness, “Can’t I just cultivate until invincibility in peace?”

Knowing he couldn’t hide forever and that it was impossible to run away from the sect’s territory because of the formations covering the entire borders, he just flew to the Outer Sect in low spirits. Even the stunning, full of immortality landscape couldn’t attract him anymore.

Just after he entered the Outer Sect’s formation, he saw an enormous floating island in the sky, it exuded strong pressure just by being there.

“It is…” Ji-Yoon quickly recognized it from the sect’s rules book, “The Immortal Fei Fortress!”
