Vol. 5 Ch. 14
by ameron-werschruxHe fainted as he thought of it.
Yal dropped to his knees. He inhaled and exhaled in extreme succession.
“It’s finally over…”
The man broadcasted, “ROUND OVER! CONGRATULATIONS TO TEAM B!”
Hazel was in shackles, “He lost…”
“I wanted to fight him in the 1v1s too… But he fought hard enough already, I’m sure he deserves some kind of rest,” she thought.
The two men from earlier came out and carry Phize towards a door under the stadium.
The man further announced, “ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE BEEN INJURED IN THE ROUND! PLEASE GO TO THE INFIRMARY IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT BATTLE!”
5 more men came out from the same room and accompany Yal carrying Trif who were going down the ring.
The man further reported, “Now, excuse us a bit, we will be doing some cleaning in the stadium. We humbly ask for your patience, thank you.”
In the end, Trif never truly thought of Phize as a true threat, but simply a troublesome brat.
…
..
.
“TEAMS C AND D, PLEASE GATHER IN THE WAITING ROOM!”
Students from all around the stadium go down.
They entered the room they went out from when the team battles started.
They sat down one by one.
“I hope he’s fine…” Hazel hoped.
She carried a worried expression on her face.
“Should I have refrained from fighting him?” she wondered.
She was surprised as to why she thought this way and then shook her head.
“No, no! None of this is my fault! This is a competition, after all, it is survival of the fittest.”
The man entered the room, “Hello, everyone! The cleaning operation will not take long, it should take about another hour for us to finish, wait for further announcements until then.”
“An hour like last time too, huh?… Yeah, it was quite a mess back there,” she thought.
The man left the room.
She grabbed a water bottle from the corner.
She twisted the cap and begins drinking heavy amounts of water.
Glug. Glug. Glug.
She let out a sigh of refreshment.
“Nothing like a good drink of water can’t fix.”
An hour went by.
The man entered the room, “For team C, we have Barat Exis Nile, Hazel Paufia, Taya Vise, and Whol Ahascio. For team D, we have Calfin Aldrin, Heresa Hidan, Josh Meso, and Minna Takku. The eight of you follow me.”
All of the students follow the man outside.
He went to the middle of the ring and the students gather before him.
“POSITION YOURSELVES!”
Everyone from Team C went to the left side of the ring while everyone from Team D went to the right.
“GIVE THE SWORDS!”
The same two men from earlier each carry 4 wooden swords.
“Pass them out.”
The two men distribute the swords to the students one by one. They dispersed afterward.
“WE WILL BE COMMENCING THE SECOND TEAM BATTLE, IN 10 seconds… 9 seconds… 8 seconds…”
“Time to prove my worth…” Hazel thought.
“7 seconds… 6 seconds…”
She gripped her sword tightly.
“5… 4…. 3…”
“Let’s see if my training did pay off.”
“2… ONE! FIGHT!”
Taya immediately charged forward.
Barat tripped and fell on his face.
Hazel reached out to him, “Here get up.”
He grabbed her hand and rose. She looked at Taya.
“Rushing so fast, she probably wants all the credit for herself,” she assumed.
“I won’t have that of course.”
Minna and Josh from the other team ran toward them.
Taya chanted, “Rock Formation.”
She pointed her magic circle to an area of ground near her and that area itself rose.
Every time she stepped, the higher the rocky platforms formed.
Minna looked above, “I can’t reach her.”
“Can anyone here cast wind magic?” Josh asked.
Taya peered upon them from below.
“I insist the two of you back off a bit if you don’t wanna get hurt,” Taya insisted.
Josh looked at her, “Are you threatening us?”
“It’s a precaution.”
Josh looked at Minna, “Piggyback ride, now.”
“Huh? Eh?” Minna was dumbfounded.
Taya sighed.
“COME ON! THAT’LL MAKE IT EASIER TO REACH HER!” Josh commanded.
“Can’t she just easily knock us down that way?” Minna asked.
“Don’t tell me I told you so…” Taya warned.
She cast a spell, “ROCK WALL!”
A large rock wall formed completely dividing the ring in half.
Josh almost fell out of balance due to the violent shaking of the ground.
Taya sat down.
“WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?” Josh angrily spouted.
“If I can see them at this range, then I’m very confident I can knock them out the ring with rock magic alone…” she thought.
“Alright then… rock barra-”
Hazel went to the side and passed through the rock barrier.
Taya glanced at Hazel in mild surprise.
She looked at Josh and cast a spell within her mind, “LEVITATION!”
Josh levitated above the ground.
“WOAH! WHAT’S HAPPENING?” Josh panicked.
“IT WORKED!” she cheered in thought.
She cast a spell, “WIND!”
A great force of wind came from the magic circle she formed and hit Josh.
“GAH!”
Josh levitated outside the ring.
He saw the ground outside the ring.
“AAH! NO PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU! DON’T LET ME ELIMINATE ME IMMEDIATELY! PLEASEEEEE!” he pleaded.
“Release.”
He fell to the ground.
The man broadcasted, “JOSH MESO HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! 3 PEOPLE REMAIN IN TEAM D WHILE TEAM C REMAINS UNSCATHED!”
Minna stared at Hazel, “Uhh…”
From continuously staring, she shivered and fainted out of fear. Hazel examined her body, then turned her attention to Calfin and Heresa who were frozen in place and were shivering in fear.
“What the heck are they doing?” Hazel wondered.
She aimed her right hand at them.
Their shivering went erratic.
She carried Minna on her shoulders while aiming her hand at them.
She placed her body out of the ring.
The man broadcasted, “MINNA TAKKU HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! 2 PEOPLE REMAIN IN TEAM D WHILE TEAM C REMAINS UNSCATHED!”
Hazel looked back at Taya, “Taya… ISN’T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM BATTLE? WHY ARE YOU TAKING ALL THE KILLS FOR YOURSELF!”
She had no reply. Hazel was disappointed, herself.
“You think of that now after casually throwing a participant off the ring?” Taya commented.
“THIS IS NOT THE TIME!”
Taya sighed, “You could’ve let me do all the work though.”
“LOOK AT OUR OTHER TEAMMATES! THEY CAN’T EVEN GET OUT!” she said as she pointed behind to see Barat trying to climb but fall and saw that Whol gave up and just sat down.
She looked back at Hazel, “I see no problem, whatsoever.”
“WHAT IS WRONG WITH YA?”
Calfin ran toward them yelling with his sword prepared, “HAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
Taya observed him.
She pointed her right hand at him, “Rock Movement.”
The rock formation hit Calfin out into the ring.
The man announced, “CALFIN ALDRIN HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! 1 PERSON REMAINS IN TEAM D WHILE TEAM C REMAINS UNSCATHED! WILL ANOTHER 1v4 OCCUR?”
“1-1v4?! Are you kidding me?” Heresa complained.
Taya leered at Heresa, “Are you next?”
“HEY! DON’T IGNORE ME!” Hazel shouted.
Heresa dropped her sword, “Yeah, no way in hell am I gonna fight these people.”
She walked outside the ring.
The man announced, “HERESA HIDAN HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! TEAM D HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! TEAM C WILL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ROUND!”
“Huh?” Hazel was wondering what had just happened.
“Wasn’t that a little bit too easy?”
