Vol. 5 Ch. 16
by ameron-werschruxHe taunted her with his index finger, “Come.”
She charged toward him.
She cast a spell in her mind, “CREATE FLOUR!”
She sprayed some of it on Trif.
He covered his face with his arms so that some wouldn’t get into his eyes.
“Copying that brat’s technique? That won’t work on me.”
He analyzed its texture by rubbing it with his thumb and index finger.
“What is this? It’s fine, so it’s not sand. Is it some kind of powder? What’s the meaning of this?” he wondered.
“Hey Trif, if you can take some of my blows then I’m sure you can be able to take an explosion right?”
“What?”
“Wait… is she talking about some sort of chemical reaction?” he hypothesized.
A light blue flame appeared on her right hand and it shot toward him.
He jumped to his left to avoid it, but once the flour caught contact with the flame, it created a dust explosion, getting him caught in it. He was propelled to his left. His clothes were in tatters and he had a lot of scratches and bruises with blood coming out of the openings of his face. He coughed up even more blood.
“You idiot.”
She recalled, “A dust explosion. By spreading the flour in the air and igniting it, it creates a dust explosion. One of the facts I remembered back in school, though not particularly in this school. But…”
“How are you standing? That spell, it was Painless, wasn’t it? Is it some kind of spell that negates pain?” she asked.
“You figured that out just now? Wasn’t the spell straightforward? But yes that’s basically it.”
“A spell that disables the nerves causing pain. With this in mind, I don’t have to worry about getting hurt. I still have about 2 minutes before it wears off,” he thought.
He ran toward her.
She stroked her sword at Trif’s neck to the left.
He blocked the attack with his left arm, acting totally unfazed.
He aimed to punch her in the face.
She ducks and punched him in the gut.
He punched her in the face afterward.
She retreated.
“I can’t beat him like this. I have to wait until the spell’s effects wear off. TAYA PLEASE HOLD THEM OFF!” she pleaded.
Meanwhile, Taya and the Trif’s three lackeys were having a face-off.
“Three doesn’t seem fair does it?” she asked.
“Who cares?” Yal said.
Oltrin rushed in from the front, Yal rushed in from her right, and Horka rushed in from her left.
“I’m cornered,” she thought.
She chanted, “QUAKE!”
She touched the ground and it violently shook the floor.
Crack.
After 5 seconds of violent tremors, the floor beneath them cracked, and its debris was left either rising out into the open or falling down. The aftereffects of these tremors made the three of them lose balance. The shaking had a wide range, which affected the area of ground Trif and Hazel were standing on.
Trif lost his footing.
“Shit… What’s happening over there?” he looked over to where Taya and his lackeys were fighting.
Hazel took advantage of this opportunity and got close to him.
“CRA-”
She hit Trif’s chin with an uppercut launching him back. The part of the ground where Trif’s head was supposed to hit rose causing him to bounce back toward her. She kicked his face to the left and he fell in its respective direction.
“I CAN’T SEE. I KEEP GETTING HIT. MY SPELL WILL WEAR OFF AT ANY MOMENT…” Trif panicked.
He tried to get up but she grabbed his collar.
She cast a spell in her mind, “ASTRAL FIST!”
A flaming blue-greenish flame engulfed her right fist. She punched him in the face.
“GHHHHHH!”
The flame faded away.
She attempted to punch him again but he managed to catch her fist with his right hand.
“YOU BITCHHHHH!!!!!!!!!”
She used her left hand to punch him in the face. His nose bled.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!” he yelled out.
He kicked her and she got launched back far. She held her stomach which was where she was hit earlier.
“What… that strength was inhumane… does he have incantationless magic like me?” she wondered.
Trif slowly rose up. He was smiling, unnervingly. Then he laughed, “AHAAHA! AHAHAHAHHAAHH! COME ON! COME AT ME!”
He dashed toward Hazel albeit faster than before.
At the same time, Taya rushed to Yal, she hit his nape which made his vision blur out. He fell to the ground.
Oltric chanted, “With the blessing of th-”
She pierced his stomach.
“Urgh…”
He held his stomach and fells to the ground.
Horka ran at Taya with his sword held upright.
He attacked her with a downward thrust.
She blocked the attack with her sword.
He chanted, “DOUBLE STRIKE!”
There was a sudden force increase on his part, causing her sword to be deflected.
He released an uppercut and she got hit by it.
“HIYAH!”
From behind, Yal attacked her back with his sword.
“YAL! HOW’S OLTRIN?” Horka asked.
“HE’S DOWN FOR THE COUNT! HE USED TOO MUCH MANA FROM THE LAST BATTLE!” he replied.
“ALRIGHT! THEN LET’S BEAT HER UP!”
Taya regained her composure and directed her attack in Yal’s direction but missed him.
Horka punched her in the face, then, with a chant, “DOUBLE STRIKE!”
She got launched back and fell back on the ground.
“NOW!” Horka cried out.
Yal chanted, “REJEC-”
She grabbed Yal’s leg and pulled him down.
“ACK!”
She stood up and retreated.
She panted, “Not,” pant, “good.”
Yal and Horka charged at her with Yal at the forefront.
Yal cast a spell, “REJ-”
She aimed her sword towards Yal but he dodged to the left.
“A FEINT?!”
Horka chanted, “REPEL!”
She rapidly dropped her sword and reached for both of their hands.
“Huh?” Yal didn’t understand what she was aiming for.
She chanted, the fastest she ever could, that it almost sounded like gibberish, “Create Nylon Rope.”
The Repel spell propelled her out but while she was airborne, a rope out of nylon connected to both Yal and Horka just in time, right at their wrists, pulling them with her. All three of them end up outside the ring, right beside the wall under the seats of the stadium.
The game master announced, “YAL WESTLER, HORKA MESO, AND TAYA VISE HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED! 2 PEOPLE REMAIN IN TEAM B WHILE 1 PERSON REMAINS IN TEAM C!”
“COME ON!” Trif complained.
Trif released an uppercut that hit Hazel’s sword deflecting it.
He attacked from underneath her.
She jumped and then followed up a downward attack.
He sidestepped and then punched her in the face with massive force, which sent her back. Her nose bled.
“What… is this? Is this another kind of spell that makes you resistant and at the same time strong?”
“No, it isn’t. Never mind all that,” he said as he chuckled, “Any more tricks up your sleeve?”
She looked at him with a fierce look.
“I KNOW! How about we play a game? I know you’re one who can’t refuse when the word game is brought up, right?” he proposed.
She thought for a bit.
“Alright, what do you have in mind?”
“You know… both of us have different qualities, one has this, and the other doesn’t have that, and vice-versa for other things. So Hazel, why don’t you show me… who will win… will your latency keep up with my strength? I DARE YOU!”
