Damn it, I knew it would come soon, but…

Phize told him, “Yeah, I’m tired of how you do things, all you do is constantly order us around, and then take all the credit for yourself.”

Trif went to him and confronted him, “Yeah, because I’m about the only person who takes care of things.”

“YOU? If it weren’t for us, you would’ve been dead by now.”

“ME? I’VE BEEN CARRYING THIS USELESS TEAM! EVEN WHEN I SAID THAT I’D DITCH YOU IN AN INSTANT, I CHOSE NOT TO.”

“Oh, now it’s a test of endurance, is it? Do you know how much I tolerated your annoying behavior, even when I did nothing?”

“Endurance? HAH! If anything, I’m suffering from being in this team in the first place. All I ever felt from the start of the semester was instant regret.”

The people were starting to take notice of them. Hazel stood from her stool.

She said to them, “Guys, that’s enough.”

Trif continued, “Look here, fucker. I kept this team together. So, it’s best to shut your mouth right now, and shut the hell up.”

Phize yelled, “TEAM? YOU CALL THIS PARTY… A TEAM? WE CAN’T EVEN COOPERATE PROPERLY.”

“You have brain issues? Don’t you remember that time in the raid, we won that, WITH MY LEADERSHIP.”

“Leadership, is telling your teammates to do whatever they want and split up, leading them?”

“I gave them orders, isn’t that what a leader is supposed to do?”

Phize explained, “You didn’t lead, all you did was leave us with our own thing. And in what world, DID YOU THINK THAT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA, TO LET THE ENEMY TAKE US ON INDIVIDUALLY? IF WE WERE TRULY COOPERATING, YOU WOULD’VE TOLD US TO FIGHT THEM AS A TEAM!!! And look what happened afterward, Lili and Hazel were severely hurt, and it’s all because of your so-called ‘leadership’.”

Trif asked, “Since when did you care about us, or even about Lili?”

    “Don’t change the subject here.”

“But I’m not… you know I heard that conversation of yours with Hazel back at Macol, before the raid occurred.”

Phize stopped talking for a second. He asked, “You… you were eavesdropping?”

“That’s not the point. What was that you said? You said that you were gonna ditch both of us?”

“You liar, I never said such a thing.”

Trif delineated, “But did you not say that you planned to get stronger with Hazel, with no regard as to what we felt. Don’t lie to me, or will you break that self-righteous mentality that you use to describe yourself.”

    Phize tried to speak.

    “N- no, w-”

Although, his guilt got the best of him.

Lili got down the stairs carrying two glass drinks in each hand. She asked them, “Hm? What’s happening here?”

    Trif continued with his rant.

    He peered at Hazel.

She looked down at the ground out of guilt.

He turned his attention back at Phize.

“You two act like you’re so much better than me like I’m the villain here, but in the end, you’re just as bad… two selfish bastards.”

Lili placed the glass drinks on a nearby table and tapped Trif’s shoulder.

    “Hey, what’s all this about?”

    He turned to her.

“Listen here, Lili. These two we-”

All of a sudden, Phize spoke out, “Why don’t you just shut up?”

Trif turned around and saw him with flaming furious eyes.

Phize reasoned out, “Do you know how much I wanted for us to be a team, regardless of our backgrounds, our rivalries, and our personalities? I tried. I really tried. I tried to be nice to you, to everyone, including you. But you had to flush that kindness down the drain. Trif, what is wrong with you? What is going on in that messed-up brain of yours?”

He went in front of Trif’s face.

Provking him, he further interrogated, “Why don’t you tell me? If you’re so great.”

    A few moments of silence.

    ..

    .

Trif punched him in the face.

    Crash.

    He fell to the ground.

The adventurers around them were startled and were blabbering about the events currently taking place.

The receptionist took notice of them and stopped counting the horns.

He attempted to stop them, “HEY! NO FIGHTING IN THE GUILD!”

    Lili held Trif’s arms.

    “Stop this.”

    Hazel went to Phize’s aid.

She asked, “Hey, are you okay?”

He touched his left cheek, it was swelling red.

    He rose from the floor.

    Hazel said to him, “Hey.”

Trif told him, “You don’t know anything about me, so don’t try and act as you do.”

    He was frantically breathing.

“H-How… is that my fault? I’ve been very considerate. But if you’re bringing up that notion. THEN…”

    He charged at Trif.

    Trif prepared his defense.

He moved his right arm forward.

Trif readied himself to his right, to defend against his attack.

    He renounced his strike.

    “A feint?!” Trif thought.

He punched Trif in the face with his right hand.

    “WHY DON’T YOU TELL ME?!”

Trif was propelled to the back and hit the tables.

    Snap.

    The table snapped in half.

Lili went to Trif’s aid another time.

“Why don’t you stop this? This is getting ridiculous.”

Trif ignored her advice and he stood up.

“You know full well, that our words won’t mean anything here. WHY DON’T YOU TELL ME WITH YOUR FISTS?!”

“If that’s what you want. I’ve always wanted a rematch anyway.”
