SPLAT!
Something warm hit my cheek.
With shaking trembling hands, I felt it.
Blood. It was blood.
I looked at my hands. Dark crimson liquid stained my skin.
My heart stopped. My breath dropped. My knees locked.
Am I…dreaming? I am right?
This is all a dream. It has to be. This warm stuff on my hands…it’s fake.
It has to be just—I broke down into sobs.
This can’t be happening.
My fear was rising with every passing second that my body shut down.
CRUNCH!
The forest leaves crunched.
Taking deep shaky breaths, I slowly looked up to come face to face with him—the man that just killed a woman, I’m staring right at him. Staring straight into a man with a bloodied face.
CRUNCH!
He was coming closer to me.
CRUNCH!
This couldn’t be happening.
CRUNCH!
“No! Please don’t hurt me—!”
